WelcomeAlastair Appleton

I am currently completing my PhD in the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge. I also do some occasional work teaching undergraduates in the Linguistics and German departments, giving talks to school pupils at University outreach events, providing one-to-one English language teaching to international students, and doing freelance German-English translation. I recently held a post as Teaching Fellow in German Linguistics at King's College London. You can read about my research, find copies of selected papers and talk handouts, and learn more about my teaching and outreach work by using the links above.

In my spare time I pursue my interests in jazz saxophone and photography. You'll find some of my selected photographs, plus a link to my Flickr photostream on the photography page.
